Full Description
Strip field boundaries and a hollow way, possibly associated with the deserted medieval settlement of Woodford Strangways are visible on aerial photographs of the 1940s to the south and east of the site of Woodsford Castle, West Woodsford. The field boundaries are formed of narrow linear ditches, two with associated banks, oriented north west-south east and south west-north east. They are visible over an area measuring approximately 400 m by 185 m. A hollow way, oriented north west-south east extends from SY 7587 9036 to SY 7592 9028. (1-2) This feature was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
