Summary
An extensive system of Medieval ridge and furrow is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs to the north and east of West Hill Farm. The parallel ridging overlies the field systems described in MDO30699 and MDO30700 which are considered likely to be of prehistoric origin and extensions of the field system and settlement described in MDO7451.

Full Description
An extensive system of Medieval ridge and furrow is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs and lidar to the north and east of West Hill Farm. The parallel ridging overlies the field systems described in MDO30699 and MDO30700 which are considered likely to be of prehistoric origin and extensions of the field system and settlement described in MDO7451. (1-3). The parallel features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
