Eight probable Second World War bomb craters are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 1946 on Newton Heath. The craters measure between 6 m and 20 m in diameter and are surrounded by banks of spoil. (1) These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
