Full Description
A Y-shaped trackway, which may be the remains of a Second World War tank training track, is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 1946 on Godlingston Heath, Studland. The possible tank training track may be associated with an area of trackways located immediately to the west (see MDO30857). The trackways are formed of linear banks and ditches, with one section oriented south west-north east and a second section leadin off from the first to the south east. They are visible over an area measuring approximately 540 m by 180 m. (1-2) These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
