Two pits are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of Bartlett's Firs, Arne (1). They are considered likely to be the remains of post medieval or modern extractive pits, probably associated with the extraction of sand or gravel. These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project. They are visible as cropmarks on the most recent Google Earth images.
