A area of disturbed ground is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of Slepe Heath, Arne taken in 1946 (1). It is considered likely to be the remains of post medieval extractive activity. This feature was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project. It is still visible on the most recent Google Earth imagery.
