An area of post medieval to modern trackways is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 2000 to the west of Verney Farm. The quarries are situated on Limestone. The trackways are aligned east-west and are visible over an area measuring approximately 45 m by 20 m. (1-2) They may have been associated with an area of mining located immediately to the east. (see MDO31037). These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
