Full Description
An area of post medieval extractive pits is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of the 1940s to the east of Leeson Park. The quarries are situated on Limestone. The earthworks consist of small extractive pits and larger excavated areas, visible over an area measuring approximately 330 m by 240 m. (1-2) These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
