An area of small post medieval extractive pits is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 2000 to the north west of Verney Farm. The pits are situated on Limestone and are visible over an area measuring approximately 105 m by 95 m. (1) These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
