Full Description
An area of post medieval extractive pits is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 1945 and 1946 to the east of Coombe, Swanage. The pits are situated on Limestone. The earthworks consist of small extractive pits and larger excavated areas, visible over an area measuring approximately 160 m by 150 m. (1-2) These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
