A post medieval extractive pit is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1945 to the east of Godlingston Wood, Swanage. The pit is situated on mudstone and measures approximately 90 m by 20 m. (1) These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
