Full Description
A post medieval extractive pit is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1946 on Round Down, Swanage. The pit is situated on chalk and measures approximately 60 m by 50 m. (1) A lime kiln is reported in the centre of the quarry (see MDO8037). These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
