A post medieval extractive pit is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1953 to the east of Ulwell Road, Ulwell, Swanage. The pit is situated on sandstone and sub-circular in shape, measuring approximately 4 m in diameter. A bank of spoil runs round its western and southern side. (1) These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
