Two post medieval extractive pits are visible as earthwork on aerial photographs of 1946 on Round Down, Swanage. The pits are situated on chalk and measure approximately 65 m by 40 m and 40 m by 30 m. (1) These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
