Six small post medieval extractive pits are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 1946, on Nine Barrow Down, Langton Matravers. The pits are situated on chalk and measure between 8 m by 7 m and 34 m by 15 m. (1) These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
