Two post medieval extractive pits are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 1946 to the east of King's Wood, Langton Matravers. The pits are situated on chalk and measure between 10 m by 10 m and 44 m by 30 m. (1) These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
