A post medieval extractive pit is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1946 on Dean Hill, Studland. The pit is situated on silty clay and measures approximately 75 m by 25 m. (1) This feature was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
