A scattered group of post medieval extractive pits are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery within and to the north west of Oakers Wood, Affpuddle. The pits are located on an area of clay, silt, sand and gravel. They are visible over an area measuring approximately 545 m by 245 m and measure between 90 m by 52 m and 3 m by 3 m. (1) These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
