A large hollow, possibly a post medieval extractive pits, is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs to the west of Blackmanston Farm, Steeple (1). It is still visible as earthworks on the latest Google Earth imagery and was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck NMP.
