A group of pits are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of New Mills Heath, Corfe Castle (1). They are considered likely to be the remains of post medieval clay pits shown here on the First and Second Edition OS maps (2-3). These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
