A post medieval sand pit is marked on the First and Second Edition OS maps (1-2), located in fields to the west of Little Woolgarston Farm, Corfe Castle. A pit is visible as an earthwork at this location on aerial photographs (3). This feature was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck mapping project.
