Full Description
A bowl barrow is recorded as an extant earthwork by the RCHM, described as being irregular and having been ploughed, but still measuring a height of 5ft {1}.
Four round barrows, probably bowl barrows, on top of spur running north-east from Black Down. 'D' (63248887) 490 yds north-east of 'C'. Irregular and ploughed, but ht still 5 ft. <1> <3>
'D' SY 63238887. Diameter 33.0m., height 2.2m. No visible ditch. A well-preserved bowl barrow, in arable but not ploughed over. Re-surveyed at 1:2500 on MSD. <4>
It is also visible as an earthwork and a cropmark on aerial photographs <7-8> appearing as a mound surrounded by an outer ditch, measuring approximately 15 metres in diameter. It was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
