Full Description

An extractive pit which may be later post medieval to early modern in date is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1946 to the north of Wareham Road, Owermoigne. It appears to have been levelled by a later date and is not visible as an earthwork on lidar imagery of 2010. The quarry is located on chalk. It is sub-oval in shape and measures approximately 55 m by 25 m . (1-2) This feature was digitally plotted as part of the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
