A possible gun emplacement associated with the Second World War airfield of RAF Warmwell is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of the 1940s, on Skippet Heath to the south of the airfield. The possible gun emplacement is formed of a bank which follows three sides of a rectangle. (1) The site is under tree cover on the most recent comprehensive aerial photography available to the project (2), but no trace of the site could be seen on lidar imagery. (3) This feature was digitally plotted as part of the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
