Full Description
A Second World War bomb crater is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of the 1940s on Skippet Heath, to the south of the site of RAF Warmwell. The bomb crater is sub-circular, measuring 8 m in diameter, with a bank of spoil around it. (1) The site is under tree cover on the most recent comprehensive aerial photography available to the project (2), but no trace of the site could be seen on lidar imagery. (3) This feature was digitally plotted as part of the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
