Full Description
A scattered area of probable Second World War weapons pits is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of the 1940s at the southern edge of RAF Warmwell. The earthworks comprise numerous small pits, some with banks of spoil around them, measuring between 2 m in diameter and 5 m by 7 m. (1) The features have now been destroyed by Warmwell Quarry. (2) This feature was digitally plotted as part of the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
