Full Description

A scattered area of probable Second World War weapons pits is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of the 1940s on Outer Heath to the southern edge of RAF Warmwell. The earthworks comprise numerous small pits, measuring 4 m in diameter and visible over an area measuring approximately 300 m by 310 m. (1) The features have now been partially destroyed by Warmwell Quarry. (2) This feature was digitally plotted as part of the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
