Two 'Old Chalk Pit' s are marked at this location on the OS 1st Edition Map. They are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1946 and 1970 (1-2). The site was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project. The features are still visible as an extant earthwork on the most recent Google Earth imagery.
