A large rectilinear hollow is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1970 <1>. It is possibly the site of post medieval extraction although a natural origin is possible.The site has been plough-levelled and the features not visible on recent Google Earth imagery. Digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
