A large hollow is visible as a low earthworks and cropmarks on aerial photographs taken in 2009 to the east of Claypits Farm. It is considered likely to be the site of a post medieval extractive pit and is associated with other similar features immediately to the south.

A large hollow is visible as a low earthworks and cropmarks on aerial photographs taken in 2009 to the east of Claypits Farm (1). It is considered likely to be the site of a post medieval extractive pit and is associated with other similar features immediately to the south. They were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
