Three post medieval extractive pits are visible as a low earthworks aerial photographs taken in 1946 to the east of Sleight Buildings, Winfrith Newburgh (1). They have since been plough-levelled and were showing as cropmarsk in 1982 (2). They were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
