A post medieval drainage system or water meadow is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of the 1940s to the east of Galton. The earthworks consist of narrow, linear, banks and ditches oriented north-south, with drains leading off them to either side. The earthworks are visible over an area measuring approximately 405 m by 405 m. (1-2) This site was digitally plotted as part of the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
