Full Description
Three blocks of medieval or post medieval ridge and furrow are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of the 1940s within and immediately to the west of Owermoigne: in the area now covered by Chilbury Gardens, on the playing field adjacent to The Old Rectory and to the west of Hollands Mead Avenue. The ridges are oriented north-south and east-west. They are visible over an area measuring approximately 450 m by 340 m. (1-2) None of the areas of ridge and furrow are visible on recent lidar imagery. (3) This site was digitally plotted as part of the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
