Summary

A bowl barrow. In 1981, the Ordnance Survey recorded it as a mound 28 metres in diameter and 1.8 metres high, with no visible ditch. The mound is crossed by the parish boundary with Winterborne Steepleton, marked by a hedge.

Full Description

A bowl barrow with a diameter of 26.0m and a maximum height of 1.2m crossed by a north-south hedge, the barrow has been under the plough and spread in the east and west, except for a narrow ridge on either side of the hedge. Ditchless and grass covered. <2> Round barrow of ? Bowl type (SY 63629013) about 60ft diameter and about 5ft high. Ploughed. <3-4> SY 63629013. Bowl barrow, diameter 28.0 metres, height 1.3 metres, ploughed over, except for a 3.0 metre wide ridge where the hedgerow crosses it. There is no visible ditch. Re-surveyed at 1:2500 on M.S.D. <5>
