A post medieval chalk pit is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of the 1940s south of West Chaldon, Chaldon Herring. The pit measures approximately 16 m by 11 m. (1) This feature was digitally plotted as part of the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
