A post medieval chalk pit is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of the 1940s to the north of West Chaldon Farm, Chaldon Herring. The pit measures approximately 50 m by 33 m. (1) This feature was digitally plotted as part of the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
