Three probable post medieval chalk pits are visible as earthworks and cropmarks on aerial photographs to the south of Chaldon Herring. The pits measure between 23 m by 16 m and 37 m by 32 m. (1-3) These features were digitally plotted as part of the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
