A post medieval chalk pit is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of the 1940s to the east of Round Pound, Chaldon Herring. The pit measures approximately 20 m by 14 m. (1) This feature was digitally plotted as part of the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
