Full Description

Two blocks of medieval or post medieval ridge and furrow are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of the 1940s to the west of Holworth, Owermoigne. They may have been associated with an agricultural system around the medieval settlement of Holworth (see MDO7230). The ridges are oriented east-west and north-south and the blocks measure approximately 225 m by 135 m and 290 m by 220 m. (1) The features could not be identified on photographs of 2009. (2) These features were digitally plotted as part of the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
