Full Description
Two probable post medieval chalk pits are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of the 1940s to the north east of Chaldon Herring. The pits are sub-oval in form and measure 45 m by 20 m and 13 m by 7 m. (1-2) The pits are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs of 2005. (3) These features were digitally plotted as part of the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
