Full Description
A system of strip fields which may be of post medieval date are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of the 1940s to the north of Chaldon Herring. The field boundaries are oriented north-south and east-west. They are positioned up to 41 m apart and are visible over an area measuring approximately 850 m by 830 m. (1-3) Elements of the system are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 2002 and lidar imagery. (4-5) These features were digitally plotted as part of the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
