Full Description
Post medieval cultivation marks or field boundaries are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of the 1940s to the north of West Chaldon, Chaldon Herring. The features consist of narrow linear banks positioned up to 30 m apart. They are visible over an area measuring approximately 180 m by 170 m. (1) The features are not visible on aerial photographs of 2009 and may have been levelled by this time. (2) These features were digitally plotted as part of the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
