The features may have been associated with an area of shrunken medieval settlement around West Chaldon. The features are formed of linear banks and ditches, predominantly oriented north west-south east. They are visible over an area measuring approximately 470 m by 160 m. (1) The features are partially visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 2009. (2) These features were digitally plotted as part of the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
