Full Description

A medieval or post medieval trackway or field boundary is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of the 1940s to the south east of West Chaldon, Chaldon Herring. The trackway or boundary is formed of a L-shaped ditch extending south west-north east for a distance of 60 m, then turning to the south east for a distance of 30 m. The feature may have been associated with medieval settlement around West Chaldon. (1) The boundary or trackway is not visible on aerial photographs of 2009. (2) This feature was digitally plotted as part of the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
