Site of a Bronze Age bowl barrow visible as a cropmark and an earthwork on aerial photographs. One of a group of 6 bowl barrows located at Rew.

Full Description

"SY 636904. Two round barrows at Rew. Scheduled No 348". (Presumably barrows `E' and `F'). <4> `E'. SY 63699039. Bowl barrow, diameter 20.0 metres, height 2.0 metres not ploughed. No visible ditch. `A', `C', `D', `E' and `F' resurveyed at 1:2500 on M.S.D., `B' deleted. <5> Part of a barrow cemetery. In 1981 the Ordnance Survey recorded it as a mound 20 metres in diameter and 2 metres high. Grinsell had noted a ditch, although none is mentioned by RCHME, and the Ordnance Survey saw no visible traces of one. Both RCHME and Grinsell noted a hollow in the top of the mound suggesting a previous excavation. <8-9>
