Field boundaries, which may be of later prehistoric to Roman date, are visible as low earthworks on aerial photographs of the 1960s adjacent to Brimstone Bottom, Chaldon Herring. The field boundaries may be associated with a prehistoric field system to the east (see MDO1879). The earthworks consist of low, spread, linear banks forming partial enclosures. They are visible over an area measuring approximately 240 m by 180 m. (1) The boundaries or trackways are not visible on aerial photographs of 2009. (2) These features were digitally plotted as part of the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
