A Second World War bomb crater is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1946 to the east of Chaldon Down, Chaldon Herring. The crater is formed of a sub-circular pit measuring approximately 14 m in diameter. (1) The crater is still visible as an earthwork on the most recent comprehensive aerial photography available to the project. (2) This feature was digitally plotted as part of the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
