Full Description
'B' - Barrow under high crop and not investigated. <2>
'B' - Small bowl barrow (no dimensions given) on arable ground. <3>
'B' - (126) - SY 65189018 Bowl (?) barrow, 60 ft diameter and 9 ft high situated 210 yards south south east of 'A'.
Two barrows situated 2 1/2 miles from Dorchester, close to the south side of the Bridport Road were excavated by E Cunnington in 1884. … Cunnington's No 22, south of No 21 and in the same field, contained a cremation with antler, ox bones and flint implements in an oval grave 2 ft long x 1 1/2 ft deep situated beneath an inner cairn. RCHM equate Cunnington's barrow No 21 with 'A' - SY 65139036 and No 22 with 'B' - SY 65189018. <4>

Cropmark of a possible levelled Bronze Age round barrow visible partially as a germination mark and chalky spread surrounded by a ditch which is visible at SY 6519 9020 to the east of Purlands Farm on aerial photographs taken in 2015 as part of the Historic England Reconnaissance Recording Programme. <9>
