Full Description

Earthwork mounds W of South Down Farm and 435m W adjacent to Pit House are shown on the OS 5th edn 1:2500 (1) and current OS mapping (2). The mounds cover structures and were probably monitoring and control buildings for the nearby radar station. There are similar mounds covering structures to the W at Ringstead (MDO32390). These were probably protected control and monitoring buildings for the WWII radar station NE of Bran Point (MDO24569).
