Full Description
The OS 1st edn 25in map (1889) (1) and subsequent maps show a straight boundary approx 220m long dividing rough pasture to the W, around Little Sea, from coastal marsh to the E, around what is now Eastern Lake. The feature effectively blocks what would otherwise be the natural outflow of Little Sea towards the sea. It is not clear whether the feature represents a dam, intended to pound the waters of Little Sea, or sea defences against marine incursion into Little Sea from the E.
